What Matters To You?

Posted By Cooper Whitescarver

This video was submitted to the Vancouver Film School in a competition they held.  From what I can remember the prize for the winner was free tuition to their school for the best video.  Well, before they had chosen their winner, I had watched a few of the submissions and saved one I truly loved in my favorite places.  I was just looking through my favorite places bookmarks and found the video.  I read the description for it and it turns out this guy won the award!  It is such an amazing video and its really inspiring to me.  I love the quote at the end by Albert Einstein.  What are your thoughts on his video? Bernann McKinney made news of having her pit bull dog cloned. But through the years someone still recognized her as Joyce Bernann McKinney a women accused of abducting a man back in 1977. Apparently McKinney became obsessed with a fellow Mormon student and when she heard he was going on a missionary to Britain she stalked him. She then abducted him and handcuffed him to a bed in a honeymoon cottage and forced him to have sex with her. After escaping he told he police what happened. Since then she has jumped bail and been charged with harassment and several other offenses. For the full story go to : http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/08/10/cloned.dogs.ap/index.html

Haunted Road

Posted By Cooper Whitescarver

Some friends and I went out to a supposed haunted road expecting nothing to happen.  The said road is called Weary Road and it’s outside Janesville, WI and Evansville, WI.  We brought a video camera though just for good measure in case something were to happen.  Well, something did happen.  Upon getting out of the cars and walking down the road, we saw a light cross the road in front of us (hard to see in video but its there) as we walked closer to it, something made a terrifying noise and we ran back to the car.

We drove our cars past where we saw the light to see if we could see anything and didn’t see anything so we got out again.  As we were walking down the road again we heard something but this time it was behind us.  When we turned and looked, we heard it running at us and could hear it making wierd breathy noises. We never got a glimpse of it due to the darkness of the night and didn’t look back as we were running back to our vehicles.  And, once again, the camera shut off from the “jar detection” to prevent damage to the data so it cuts out at the end.  We all made it out okay and into the vehicles.  I’m not so sure if I’m going to go back to that road again.

Here is the video from that night (contains swearing):

America Loses Another Anthrax Terroist

Posted By Leighia Francis

Earlier this week America lost one of their biggest threats to their own country, an anthrax terrorist. Bruce Ivins, who has worked the past 18 years as a leading military anthrax researcher and microbiologist. In 2000, the country started having doubts about his weird behaviors and attitude. He described himself as being disassociated with himself, becoming dizzy and having a metallic taste in his mouth. He also stated that “I’m the other half of Bruce, when he lets me out”. According to attorney Mark Riley, a retired Army intelligence officer that, ” It’s an exceptional case. It could be that it just slipped through the cracks.”

In 2001 Ivins sent out letters that contained Anthrax which killed five people and put the country in shock. Ivins was informed of a impending prosecution for these accounts against him. Shortly after receiving this information, Ivins overdosed on prescription medication. For now investigators are remaining silent along with the Justice Department.

Scenic Waterfall

A computer controlled waterfall which can display images and text.  While watching this, I thought it would be cool to make some beats with the water splashes.  When it says “Canal City” vertically, it sounds cool when it hits the water.  It is worth watching the whole video.

16 Dead. More to Come?

On Monday August 4, 2008 16 Chinese police officers died. According to officials it is believed to be a terroist attack. The attack happened in the city of Kashgar. It is also believed that it may be a warning for the Olympics and the potential security threats. They could be targeted by the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) and other extremist groups found throughout China.

It is reported that two unidentified persons drove a dump truck through a team of border police on a morning jog. 14 officers died instantly while the other 2 died on the way to the hospital. The two attackers then threw home-made explosives into the barracks and hacked policemen with knives. Officials stated that the two attackers have been arrested.

With the Olympics to begin in 4 days the question of security has risen. Has this attack proven the weakness of control in China?
